Ingredients:
Instructions:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 250g ground lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sumac
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Yogurt and fresh herbs for serving
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add the warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground lamb until browned. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomato, ground cumin, paprika, sumac, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll out each portion into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spoon the lamb mixture onto the center of each dough oval, leaving a border around the edges. Fold over the edges to create a boat shape, pinching the ends to seal.
- Transfer the prepared pides to the lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot, topped with a dollop of yogurt and a sprinkle of fresh herbs. Enjoy your delicious Turkish Lamb Pide!
