I recently made a Ugandan Rolex, and wow—it’s such a fun and satisfying street food! This isn’t the kind of Rolex you wear on your wrist, but trust me, it’s just as valuable. 🤩 It’s a rolled-up chapati filled with eggs, veggies, and spices, making it the perfect on-the-go snack or breakfast wrap. Simple, delicious, and packed with flavor!

Ingredients:

For the Chapati:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Egg Filling:

  • 3 eggs
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • ½ tomato, finely chopped
  • ¼ bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small chili (optional, for heat)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter (for cooking)

Instructions:

1. Make the Chapati:
In a bowl, mix flour and salt, then gradually add water while kneading until you get a soft, elastic dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes. Divide into 4 balls, roll them out into thin circles, and cook on a hot pan with a little oil until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Egg Mixture:
In a bowl, whisk the eggs with onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, chili, salt, and black pepper.

3. Cook the Eggs:
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, pour in the egg mixture, and spread it evenly. Cook like an omelet until set, then place a cooked chapati directly on top of the eggs while still in the pan. Press gently to stick them together.

4. Roll it Up & Serve:
Flip the chapati and egg onto a plate, roll it up tightly, and serve warm!

Conclusion:

A Ugandan Rolex is quick, tasty, and totally customizable—you can add cheese, avocado, or even meats for extra flavor. It’s the ultimate street food that you can easily make at home. Try it and thank me later! 😍🌯
