- 1 medium onion, diced

- 2 (15-ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 (15-ounce) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Directions:
- In a large pot, cook ground beef and ground pork over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth. Mix well.
- Add chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavors meld.
