Hey folks, got a question about chicken shawarma's roots. This savory dish is beloved worldwide, but it hails from the Middle East, right? I've read it was originally made with lamb, and the method of cooking meat on a spit was perfect for feasts. Any experts out there who can share more about its history?

You got it! Chicken shawarma is definitely Middle Eastern, with lamb being the OG meat :) The vertical spit cooking makes perfect sense for feeding a crowd too .. Love how this dish has traveled the world and taken on so many variations!

Chicken shawarma has roots in Middle Eastern cuisine. I think it's a blend of flavors from that region, though it's now enjoyed worldwide! 🌍
