I was trying to order a few cooking tools and ingredients from an overseas site and ran into an issue that I cannot figure out. My FAB debit card works fine here when I pay at local grocery stores or even when I order food online, but when I try to pay international merchants, the payment keeps getting rejected. The same thing happened on two different websites, so it does not look like a one off problem.
What makes it confusing is that the card is active and there is enough balance in the account. I even received a message once saying the transaction could not be processed, but there was no clear reason given. I am not sure if this is something related to international usage settings or if certain merchants are just not accepting it.
At the moment I am also waiting for my salary to be properly reflected in my uae FAB salary account, so I want to be sure my balance is actually correct before I try again. If anyone here knows a reliable way to check the exact salary balance in FAB when there is doubt about pending or blocked transactions, I would appreciate the help.
Has anyone else faced this issue while trying to pay for things like imported kitchen items or subscriptions from abroad? I am trying to understand if this is a bank side restriction or something I need to enable from my end.
