🌿 Bean Sprout Soup Recipe


Ingredients


  • 2 cups bean sprouts (washed well)
  • 5 cups water or vegetable broth
  • 4–5 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for flavor)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 green onion (chopped)
  • Optional: A few slices of green chili for spice



🥣 Instructions


  1. Prepare the broth
    In a pot, add water/broth, garlic, and onion. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add bean sprouts
    Add the bean sprouts and boil for 5–7 minutes until they turn slightly translucent.
  3. Season
    Add salt, pepper, soy sauce (optional), and stir gently.
  4. Finish with sesame oil
    Turn off the heat and drizzle sesame oil for aroma.
  5. Garnish
    Add green onions and (optional) green chilies.
  6. Serve hot
    Enjoy it as a light meal or alongside rice.



🌟 Tips​


  • Don’t overcook the bean sprouts; they lose freshness if boiled too long.
  • You can add a small piece of dried anchovy or kelp to make a more flavorful broth.
  • For spicy version, add ½ tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes).
