Instructions:

  1. Marinate Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, 1/4 cup soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  3. Cook Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned and just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Cook Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the broccoli florets and cook, stirring frequently, until they are bright green and crisp-tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and fresh ginger to the skillet with the broccoli and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Combine and Thicken: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat everything evenly. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the Beef and Broccoli over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
