Ingredients:
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Prepare the Brisket:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Rub the brisket with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Sear the Meat:
- In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat a bit of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the brisket on both sides until it’s browned, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Aromatics:
- In the same pot, add sliced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until they’re soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Make the Sauce:
- Add beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
- Combine and Cook:
- Place the brisket back into the pot. Spoon some of the sauce over the top of the meat.
- Cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
- Cook for about 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Serve:
- Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with the delicious sauce from the pot.
