Chicken and Waffles Casserole

This cozy dish layers tender chicken, crispy waffles, and gooey cheese, all baked to golden perfection.

- 1 pound cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 6 frozen waffles, toasted
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Maple syrup, for serving

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2. Cut or tear the toasted waffles into bite-sized pieces and spread them evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
3. Sprinkle the cooked chicken over the waffles.
4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the chicken and waffles in the baking dish.
6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
9. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top.
