- 1 can (15 oz) of organic chickpeas
- 1/4 cup of Soom Foods tahini
- 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin (optional)
- Drain and rinse your chickpeas thoroughly.
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin (if using).
- Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If the hummus is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more lemon juice, salt, or cumin to taste.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil if you're feeling fancy, and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or chopped fresh herbs.
- Serve with your favorite dipping companions - pita bread, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, you name it!
