Not your ordinary burger

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onion
- Pickles (optional)
- Your favorite condiments (such as mayonnaise, ketchup, or mustard)
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the beaten eggs in another shallow dish.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the chicken breasts into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat the chicken breasts in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken breasts in the hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles (if using), and your favorite condiments.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
