I recently made the most amazing deep dish pizza, and I just had to share the recipe with you! This pizza has a buttery, crispy crust that perfectly holds a mountain of gooey cheese and rich tomato sauce. It's a bit of a process, but totally worth it.

Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups cooked sausage or pepperoni slices
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:
1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
2. Mix the flour, cornmeal, melted butter, and salt in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours.
3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a deep dish pizza pan with butter.
4. Roll out the dough and press it into the pan, making sure it comes up the sides.
5. Sprinkle a generous layer of mozzarella cheese over the crust, then add your sausage or pepperoni.
6. Pour the crushed tomatoes over the meat and cheese, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle oregano, basil, and garlic powder on top.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

It's absolutely delicious, and your house will smell like a pizzeria! Enjoy every cheesy, saucy bite. 🍕✨
