Are you a shrimp lover? I just discovered a Spanish-style shrimp recipe and it's easy to make! Here's the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1-2 small dried red chilies, crushed (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Crusty bread, for serving
Instructions:
- Heat the Olive Oil:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic and dried chilies (if using) and sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Increase the heat to medium-high.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, spreading them out in a single layer.
- Cook for about 2 minutes on one side until they start turning pink.
- Add Wine and Lemon Juice:
- Flip the shrimp and add the white wine and lemon juice.
- Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through and opaque.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish:
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp and stir to combine.
- Serve:
- Serve the Gambas al Ajillo hot, with crusty bread on the side to soak up the delicious garlic-infused oil.
