For the Pork:
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Large lettuce leaves (such as butter lettuce, iceberg, or romaine)
- Cooked rice, for serving (optional)
- Sliced cucumber, carrot, and bell pepper, for topping (optional)
- Sriracha or chili garlic sauce, for extra heat (optional)
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey or brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet with the pork. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the skillet with the pork and stir to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Season the pork mixture with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- To assemble the Ginger Pork Lettuce Wraps, spoon a portion of the pork mixture onto each lettuce leaf. Top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
- Serve the lettuce wraps immediately, with cooked rice on the side if desired. You can also offer sliced cucumber, carrot, and bell pepper for topping, along with sriracha or chili garlic sauce for extra heat.
- Enjoy the fresh and vibrant flavors of these Ginger Pork Lettuce Wraps, and savor every delicious bite!
