  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup buttermilk

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan to ensure the cake doesn't stick.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the orange juice and buttermilk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
