Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger

  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground turmeric

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon fine salt

  • 2 cups basmati rice or other long grain white rice

  • 3 cups water

  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

  • 1/3 cup sliced green onions (optional)

Guidelines

Step 1
In a skillet or saucepan with a tight-fitting cover, melt butter over medium heat. Add salt, brown sugar, ginger, turmeric, and cayenne as soon as the butter begins to boil. Cook for one minute while whisking.

Step 2
Add the rice and whisk until the butter coats each grain. Add the water, stir, and increase the heat to a boil. Once it starts to boil, shake and stir the pan gently to ensure that the rice is well distributed, and then turn the heat down to medium-low.

Step 3
Simmer for fifteen minutes with a tight cover. After turning off the heat, leave covered for ten minutes. Until now, DO NOT attempt to stir or lift the lid.

Step 4
Now take off the cover and separate and fluff the rice grains with a fork. After adding seasoning to taste, serve right away with green onions and walnuts as garnish.

Let's spread the buttery love, shall we? 💛✨

OMG! The combination of butter, ginger, and turmeric must create a rich and aromatic flavor. And those optional walnuts and green onions? Sounds like the perfect finishing touch for added texture and freshness✨🍚
