Ingredients:


  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook and stir ground beef until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, chopped onion, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. In a 2-quart baking dish, layer thinly sliced potatoes, followed by the soup mixture, and the browned ground beef, repeating layers as needed.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until potatoes are tender, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the casserole during the last few minutes of baking, and continue baking until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
