A healthy Snack you need to try!
Ingredients:
- 2-3 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent browning)
- Optional: cinnamon or salt for seasoning
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
- Prepare the Bananas:
- Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips will be.
- Prevent Browning:
- In a bowl, mix the lemon juice with a little water. Dip the banana slices in the lemon juice mixture for about 30 seconds to coat them, then drain.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the banana slices in a single layer on the sheet, making sure they don’t overlap.
- Bake:
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 2 to 3 hours. Flip the slices halfway through baking for even drying. Keep an eye on them, as baking times can vary depending on the thickness of the slices.
- Cool and Season:
- Once the chips are golden and crisp, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely. If desired, sprinkle with a little cinnamon or salt for added flavor.
- Store:
- Store your homemade banana chips in an airtight container. They’ll stay fresh for several days.
Tips:
- If you have a dehydrator, you can use that instead, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Experiment with different spices or sweeteners for a unique flavor!
