There’s nothing quite like the taste of freshly baked hoagie rolls. These rolls are perfect for sandwiches, subs, or just enjoying with a bit of butter. They’re soft, fluffy, and incredibly satisfying to make from scratch.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
Procedure:

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 6-8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a hoagie roll and place on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let the rolls cool on a wire rack before serving.
These homemade hoagie rolls are the perfect base for your favorite sandwiches. They’re soft, flavorful, and made with love. Enjoy the process of baking and the delicious results! 🥪❤️
