- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole milk, sugar, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
- Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or overnight, until thoroughly chilled.
- Set up your KitchenAid mixer with the ice cream maker attachment according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Turn on the mixer to low speed and slowly pour the chilled ice cream mixture into the bowl of the attachment.
- Churn the ice cream for about 20-25 minutes, or until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- If desired, you can enjoy the ice cream immediately as soft-serve, or transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 2-3 hours for a firmer texture.
- Scoop and serve your homemade vanilla ice cream, and optionally, garnish with toppings of your choice!
