Hi everyone, I would like to share a recipe for a special sauce that I find helpful when I'm trying to make a sangyupsal dish at home with my family or friends. This is a Korean BBQ Sauce that adds a delicious kick to any recipe! It's made by mixing soy sauce, ginger, chili-garlic sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and more to create a flavor profile that will really impress your taste buds.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1-4 tablespoons chili-garlic sauce (such as Sriracha)
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, mirin, sesame oil, rice vinegar, chili-garlic sauce, ginger, garlic, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the cornstarch slurry. Whisk to combine.
- Return the saucepan to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Use the Korean BBQ Sauce in your favorite recipes.
