Are you looking for a not-so-common fries recipe? I recommend this one! It's called poutine fries, it's and easy one to do. Here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup cheese curds
- 1 cup beef or chicken gravy
Instructions:
- Prep the Potatoes: Peel and cut the potatoes into 1/4-inch thick fries. Soak them in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.
- Fry the Potatoes: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-6 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.
- Heat the Gravy: Warm the gravy in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.
- Assemble: Place the fries on a serving plate, top with cheese curds, and pour hot gravy over them.
- Serve: Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your homemade poutine!
