Ingredients:

  • 500g flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crusty bread rolls

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the steak: Place steak slices between plastic wrap and gently pound to slightly thin them out.
  2. Garlic infusion: Place a garlic slice on each steak and gently press it in with a meat mallet or the back of a spoon.
  3. Cook the steak: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. Sauté the onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until softened and caramelized.
  5. Deglaze the pan: Pour in the white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce slightly.
  6. Assemble the sandwich: Toast the bread rolls. Place cooked steak and caramelized onions on the bottom half of the roll. Season with salt and pepper. Close the sandwich and enjoy!
