Hey friends! 🌿🍹 If you're looking for a refreshing and unique drink, you’ve got to try making a shrub! This tangy, sweet, and fruity concoction is perfect for summer days and is super easy to make. Let’s dive in! 🍓🍋

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fruit (e.g., strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Sparkling water (for serving)
Procedure:

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash and chop the fruit into small pieces. Place them in a bowl and mix with the sugar.
  2. Macerate the Fruit: Cover the bowl and let the fruit and sugar mixture sit in the fridge for at least 24 hours, stirring occasionally. This helps to draw out the juices.
  3. Strain the Syrup: After 24 hours, strain the fruit mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar, discarding the solids.
  4. Add the Vinegar: Mix the fruit syrup with apple cider vinegar. Seal the jar and shake well to combine.
  5. Store and Serve: Store the shrub in the fridge for a few days to let the flavors meld. To serve, mix 1-2 tablespoons of the shrub with sparkling water over ice.
