Hey everyone! Iā€™ve been experimenting with tofu lately, and I wanted to share this super easy and delicious recipe for Spicy Tofu Crumbles. They make a great topping for salads, tacos, or even just as a snack!

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of firm tofu (14 oz), drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or sesame oil for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • Ā½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

  1. Crumble the Tofu: After pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture, crumble it into bite-sized pieces using your hands or a fork.
  2. SautƩ the Tofu: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the crumbled tofu and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to turn golden and slightly crispy.
  3. Season It Up: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, sriracha, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the tofu crumbles, and stir to combine.
  4. Cook Further: Continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors and get even crispier.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Once done, remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro if you like. Enjoy it in your favorite dishes or as a protein-packed snack!
