During the summer season, quench your thirst with this rejuvenating, flavorful, and effortlessly homemade drink, which has become my seasonal favorite.
Ingredients
Strawberry Milk
- 2 cups milk preferably whole milk
- 1/2 cup hulled and chopped strawberries frozen is fine
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- A couple drops of red food coloring optional
Instructions
- Pour two cups of whole milk into a sizable glass and chill it in the freezer until the milk reaches a very cold temperature. (Omit this step if preparing the syrup in advance.)
- In a petite saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and simmer, occasionally stirring, for about 10 minutes, until it emanates a fragrant aroma and thickens slightly.
- Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the syrup into a small bowl or cup, discarding the strawberries. Incorporate three tablespoons, or approximately two-thirds, of the syrup into the chilled milk. Stir well, adjusting the sweetness with more syrup if desired. Optionally, introduce food coloring for additional visual appeal.
