Ingredients:

For the Marinade:

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1-2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce or sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Cooking:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili garlic sauce or sriracha, and sesame oil to make the sauce. Set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef slices to the hot skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. You may need to cook the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  6. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil if needed. Add the thinly sliced onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened and slightly caramelized.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the onions.
  8. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and onions in the skillet. Stir well to coat the beef and onions evenly with the sauce.
  9. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is heated through.
  10. Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish the Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
  11. Serve the Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef hot over steamed rice or noodles.
  12. Enjoy the bold and spicy flavors of this homemade Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef with your favorite side dishes, and get ready for a taste sensation that will leave you craving more!
Note: Adjust the amount of chili garlic sauce or sriracha according to your desired level of spiciness.
