- 1 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Add Toffee and Nuts:
- Stir in the toffee bits and chopped nuts.
- Bake:
- Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Optional Chocolate Topping:
- If using chocolate chips, sprinkle them over the hot bars right after removing them from the oven. Let them sit for a few minutes to soften, then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
- Cool and Cut:
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
