  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter and dust it lightly with flour, tapping out any excess flour.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Remove the pound cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Carefully remove the cake from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
