  • 1 cup of mixed greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula)
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup hummus
  • 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Pickles or jalapeños for an extra kick!

Instructions:​

  1. Prep the Bread: Toast your whole grain bread until it’s golden brown and crispy. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Spread the Love: Take 4 slices of the toasted bread and spread a generous amount of hummus on each.
  3. Layer it Up: On the first slice of bread, start with a layer of mixed greens, then add tomato slices, cucumber slices, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  4. Avocado & Cheese: Place the second slice of bread on top, hummus side up. Add avocado slices, red onion, and cheddar cheese.
  5. Sprouts & Final Touches: Top with alfalfa sprouts and any optional extras like pickles or jalapeños for a spicy touch.
