Ingredients:

  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Chicken Thighs:
    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Season both sides of the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  3. Coat with Barbecue Sauce:
    • Brush or drizzle olive oil over the chicken thighs to help them crisp up in the oven.
    • Place the chicken thighs in a single layer in a baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Brush the barbecue sauce generously over each chicken thigh, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Bake the Chicken:
    • Place the baking dish or sheet in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken thighs are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Halfway through the cooking time, you can brush the chicken with more barbecue sauce if desired.
  5. Serve:
    • Once the chicken thighs are done, remove them from the oven.
    • Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or green onions if desired.
    • Serve hot and enjoy your delicious baked BBQ chicken thighs!
