Hey! In my experience, using too much baking powder or baking soda can cause snickerdoodles to turn out cakey 🥮. Though these leavening agents are essential for lift, too much can result in a puffier, cake-like texture. Try reducing the amount in your recipe and see if it makes a difference! 🥄
 
I had this problem before. I tried to avoid overmixing the dough and chill it for a few mins before baking. Maybe this would work for you also :)
