Hi everyone! 🍽️ Thought I'd share one of my go-to Russian recipes with you all. Get ready to dive into the delicious world of Pelmeni dumplings. Simple, satisfying, and oh-so-delicious! Let's cook up some magic together! ✨

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound ground beef or pork
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sour cream or vinegar for serving

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the eggs and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the ground meat, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Using a round cutter or glass, cut out circles of dough.
  5. Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop the pelmeni into the boiling water and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  7. Remove the pelmeni with a slotted spoon and serve hot, with sour cream or a splash of vinegar for dipping. Enjoy these delicious Russian dumplings as a comforting and satisfying meal! 🥟
