The best of traditional tiramisu is ours but wait till you try our Raspberry Tiramisu version; it blows every Italian treat into celestial! A divine balance is created by the addition of fresh raspberries and raspberry jam, which features a lovely sweet-tart combination that harmoniously matches the mascarpone creaminess, intense coffee, and chocolate, all sandwiched between the feather-light ladyfingers. Ingredients:

  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 12 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 3 cups strongly brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)
  • 36 ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 12 oz fresh raspberries
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat together the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until medium peaks form.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese with about 1/4 cup of the whipped cream mixture. Stir until smooth, then gently fold in the remaining whipped cream.
  3. In a large glass measuring cup, mix together the strongly brewed coffee and Grand Marnier.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the whipped cream mixture in the bottom of a large trifle dish.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer on top of the whipped cream in the dish.
  6. Spread about a third of the whipped cream over the ladyfingers in an even layer.
  7. Spoon half of the raspberry jam over the whipped cream, followed by half of the fresh raspberries.
  8. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, whipped cream, jam, and raspberries.
  9. Finish with a final layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining whipped cream.
  10. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until well chilled.
  11. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings on top.
