Ingredients:
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons truffle oil (adjust according to taste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (optional, for garnish)
- Truffle salt (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions:
- Boil Potatoes: Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain Potatoes: Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them well in a colander.
- Mash Potatoes: Return the drained potatoes to the pot. Add the butter and heavy cream to the potatoes and mash them using a potato masher or a fork until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add Truffle Oil: Gradually drizzle in the truffle oil while continuing to mash the potatoes. Taste and adjust the amount of truffle oil according to your preference. Be careful not to overpower the dish with too much truffle oil.
- Garnish and Serve: Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped fresh chives and a sprinkle of truffle salt, if desired. Serve hot.
