- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 pound thick-cut bacon
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, and black pepper.
- Place bacon slices on a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then turn the bacon slices over and bake for another 5 minutes.
- Remove bacon from the oven and brush both sides generously with the brown sugar mixture.
- Return bacon to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
- Repeat brushing with the brown sugar mixture every 5 minutes until the bacon is caramelized and crisp, about 35 minutes total baking time.
