Chocolate Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- One 12-ounce bag chocolate chips (2 cups)
Directions:
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in melted butter.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Stir dry ingredients into wet until a homogenous dough forms. Avoid overmixing. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake: Scrape dough into prepared skillet, spreading to edges. Bake until top is cracked, edges are brown and crisp, and center is still soft, about 40 to 45 minutes.
- Cool and Serve: Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Serve warm, cut into wedges.
