Instant Pot Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups long grain white rice, such as basmati or jasmine
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt, optional
- Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer under cold running water. Drain well and transfer to the Instant Pot.
- Add water and salt (if using) to the Instant Pot. Stir to ensure all rice is submerged in water, not sticking to the sides.
- Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the steam release valve to the sealing position.
- Select the Pressure Cook or Manual setting and cook at high pressure for 4 minutes. It will take about 10 minutes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure.
- Once the cooking cycle completes, allow the pressure to release naturally for at least 15 minutes. Avoid opening the lid during this time.
- After 15 minutes, carefully move the steam release valve to the venting position to quick release any remaining pressure. When the pressure indicator drops, it's safe to open the lid.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
