Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients called for on box)
- 1 (3oz) box strawberry jello powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 (16oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
- Start by baking the cake according to package instructions in a 9x13 pan. Let it cool completely once it's out of the oven.
- Once the cake is cooled, use a fork to poke holes all over the top, about 1 inch apart. Be generous with those holes!
- In a bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the strawberry jello powder and boiling water until fully dissolved. Then stir in the 1/2 cup cold water.
- Slowly pour the jello mixture all over the top of the cake, letting it seep down into those holes you poked. Use a spoon to help it along if needed.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for 3-4 hours until the jello is completely set.
- In a bowl, fold together the thawed whipped topping and sliced fresh strawberries.
- Spread this luscious strawberry topping evenly over the top of the chilled, jello-soaked cake.
- For the final flourish, garnish with extra strawberry slices or curls of whipped cream.
