  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua) or 2 tablespoons additional coffee, cooled
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup ladyfingers, crushed (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for garnish
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Base:
    • In a medium saucepan, heat the milk and sugar over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually add some of the warm milk mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly to temper them.
    • Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. Do not boil.
  2. Cool the Base:
    • Remove from heat and stir in the cream, cooled coffee, coffee liqueur (or extra coffee), and vanilla extract.
    • Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until completely chilled (at least 2 hours).
  3. Churn the Ice Cream:
    • Once chilled, whisk in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
    • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturerā€™s instructions.
  4. Add Ladyfingers (Optional):
    • If using, fold in the crushed ladyfingers once the ice cream is nearly done churning.
  5. Freeze and Serve:
    • Transfer the churned ice cream to a container and freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
    • Before serving, dust with cocoa powder for a touch of authenticity.
Enjoy this creamy Tiramisu Ice Cream as a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert! šŸ¦ā˜•
