Hi, there stew lovers! 🍲 I'm diving into making crockpot beef stew and can't decide between using tomato paste or fresh tomatoes. 🍅 What do you all prefer? Does one give a better flavor or thickness than the other? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Thanks a bunch! 😊

Both are actually great! Tomato paste is my usual for that rich, thick goodness, but fresh tomatoes sound kinda tempting for a lighter vibe 😊

In my opinion, using tomato paste in crockpot beef stew can give it a more concentrated and robust tomato flavor. Though fresh tomatoes can add freshness, they might not offer the same depth of flavor as tomato paste. 🍅 However, if you prefer a lighter taste, fresh tomatoes could be the way to go.

Tomato paste adds a richer, more concentrated flavor and thicker consistency, while fresh tomatoes provide a lighter, fresher taste and more liquid, so choose based on your desired stew texture and flavor depth.
