Ingredients

  • For the Cheese Ball:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese or feta cheese (optional)
    • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Coating:
    • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Cheese Ball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, blue cheese (if using), green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  3. Form the Cheese Balls: Once chilled, scoop out portions of the mixture (about 1-2 inches in diameter) and roll them into balls.
  4. Coat with Pecans: Place the chopped pecans on a plate. Roll each cheese ball in the pecans until fully coated.
  5. Chill Again: Return the coated cheese balls to the fridge for another 30 minutes to set.
  6. Serve: Arrange the cheese balls on a platter and serve with crackers, fresh veggies, or fruit.

Tips

  • For added flavor, you can mix in some dried fruits, like cranberries or apricots.
  • Feel free to adjust the spices or add herbs like dill or chives for extra taste.
