I recently tried my hand at Jamaican jerk chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! The combination of spices and the smoky flavor made it a hit at dinner. Here's how you can make it yourself.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp allspice
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix all the spices, garlic, and onion.
  2. Add the soy sauce, lime juice, and olive oil to create a marinade.
  3. Place the chicken in the marinade, making sure it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours, but overnight is best.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until it's cooked through and has a nice char.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
